Funeral services were held Friday, July 18, 2014, at Saulters Moore Chapel in Prentiss for Mrs. Christine Stafford Kirkley, age 86, who passed away on July 14. Interment followed at Carson Cemetery in Carson. Saulters Moore Funeral Home was in charge of all arrangements.

Rev. Tommy Broome officiated. Pallbearers were: John Kirkley, Will Crowdus, Bobby Stafford, Ricky Barrett, Ron Jones and B.J. Norris.

Christine was born on September 5, 1927. She was the daughter of Wilford Stafford and Jessie Mae Clark Stafford. She lived in California for a number of years and was a surgical nursing assistant and also in the restaurant business in Cloverdale California. She was a member of Carson Baptist Church in Carson.

Mrs. Kirkley is survived by her daughter, Linda Meridith of Carson; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; two brothers, Melvin Stafford and Dave Stafford of Hattiesburg; and one sister, Graple Jones also of Hattiesburg.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one son, one brother and one sister.
