This job literally stinks sometimes. On-the-spot reporter extraordinaire,  Shirley Burnham, had to cover a story this week on skunks. There she was dressed in her nice business attire trying to get close enough to her subject to take the perfect photograph.

Only problem was, the subject was baby skunks… which are probably similar to baby water mocassins in that their defense mechanism is just as deadly as their mama’s, maybe even more so.

Shirley was lucky not to have gotten sprayed, but she caught a whiff of the scent and only had time to get one shot of the cute little stinky critters (see below). Imagine if the worst had happened. We would have had to buy Ramey’s out of tomato juice and soak her down before she could go back home. Brother Charles would not have been happy.
