It’s called “Operation Santa Paws” and it’s for the Lawrence County Animal Rescue League (LCARL).
June Berry has organized and enlisted the help of the youth group from Prentiss United Methodist Church this year to collect much needed supplies for the care, housing, and operation of the animal rescue located on 1507 Reid Road in Monticello.
“They can call me at 225-953-0874, and I will pick up any donations one would like to give until December 21,” Berry explained.
“What June Berry and Prentiss United Methodist Church is doing with a supply drive is an amazing thing. We are so grateful to be the recipients of this out-pouring of goodwill. We need more individuals, churches, and organizations to assist us with our mission. LCARL cannot accomplish these tasks without the ongoing support of the community,” said Ashley Bowman, Adoption Specialist at LCARL.
The following is a list of supplies you may wish to donate: bleach, Pine-Sol, sponges, cat litter, de-greaser, SOS pads, paper towels, dish washing soap, trash bags (any size), latex gloves (size LG), cat food (dry and canned), dog food (dry and canned), puppy food (dry and canned), HP ink cartridge black #22, HP ink cartridge color #56, printer paper (legal and letter size), stamps, and of course any money donations (make checks payable to LCARL).
Lawrence County Animal Rescue League provides shelter for homeless, abused, or unwanted animals, and places these animals into humane environments. LCARL also provides programs, services, and education to promote the humane treatment of animals.
