Funeral services were held January 4, 2014, at Zion Hill MB Church, Lumberton, for Mrs. Joe Ann Stringer, 57, who died December 29 at her residence. Rev. Robert Wilkes officiated with interment following in the Wellstown Cemetery, Lumberton. Johnson Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Joe Ann Singleton was born to the late Rev. Aaron and Bernice Crawford. At an early age, she united with Sweet Beulah Baptist Church in Bogalusa, LA. After relocating to Monticello, Mississippi, she united with Oak Grove Baptist Church.

She attended Angie High School where she was a graduate of the class of 1974. She was married to the late Walter “Jimbo” Singleton. She worked in the healthcare profession for many years.

She was preceded in death by one brother, Shelby.

She is survived by four sisters, Lurethia (W.B.) Bester of Stonewall, Lillie B. Crawford of Picayune, Erica Crawford of Bogalusa, LA, and Tonya (Rodrick) Crawford Hill of Angie, LA, one granddaughter, Lacricia Rattley of Monticello; one aunt, Lena Magee of Bogalusa, LA; friends, Patricia Peyton, Janice Peyton and Lezzuett Ross, many other relatives and friends.
