Runners and walkers throughout Mississippi and especially Jeff Davis County are encouraged to start training now for one of south Mississippi’s longest-running and best known sporting events. The 31st Annual Run for the Roses 5K Run/Walk is scheduled for Saturday, April 12, 2014 in Prentiss.

The planning committee is has met and is now securing sponsorship commitments. A $200 donation allows the sponsors’ name and logo to appear on the event t-shirt and website. All profits go toward scholarships for local high students as they pursue higher education and other worthy projects in the community that focus on health and physical fitness.
