National Signing Day on Thursday, February 5, was a day for athletes all over the country to commit their talents on the gridiron to colleges and universities.
After a tremendous season, eight Bassfield High Yellowjacket football players signed athletic scholarship contracts at a reception held in the BHS auditorium pledging to play football and continue their education in Mississippi schools. The BHS football team is to be commended for outstanding success and winning the State Championship in the 2013 season.
The Prentiss High School Bulldogs broke tradition in the 2013 season, making it to the playoffs and having one player sign.
