Thomas Holloway

Funeral services were held Monday, May 5, 2014, at Saulters Moore Funeral Chapel in Prentiss for Mr. Thomas Holloway, age 88, of Carson, who passed away on May 1. Interment followed at Prentiss Cemetery. Saulters Moore Funeral Home of Prentiss was in charge of all arrangements.
Rev. Sessions Polk and Rev. Charles L. Loftin officiated. Pallbearers were Brandon Cruise, Jake Holloway, Hank Holloway, David Saulters, Dek Terrell and Daniel Sinclair. Honorary pallbearers were the Masons of the Mt. Carmel Lodge #453, members of the Jeff Davis Soil Conservation board and Jeff Davis Farm Bureau board.
A lifelong resident of Carson, Mr. Thomas Rex Holloway was born on December 2, 1925. He was the son of Walter Rex Holloway and Virgie Broome Holloway. He worked as a clerk and part-owner of Prentiss Feed & Seed from 1945 to 1965. He owned and operated Holloway Hardware from 1966 to 1987, extending the business to include a gift shop in 1970. He was a member of Prentiss United Methodist Church. He served on the Jeff Davis Soil Conservation board and the Jeff Davis Farm Bureau board. He was also a Master Mason of the Mt. Carmel Lodge #453 serving faithfully for 65 years.
Mr. Holloway is survived by his daughters, Jamie Sandifer (Sam) of Prentiss and Tommye Ellen Bridges (Don) of Pearl; and his four grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Doris Holloway and two brothers.
