THE PRENTISS HEADLIGHT / Nick Smith of Brookhaven (pictured fourth from the left) drew a tag designated to the Southwest zone for this year’s alligator hunting season. Smith claimed this 9-ft gator on September 1 using a throw hook on the Big Black River. Invited along on the hunt were LeAnne and George Griffith of Prentiss, Brandon Hughes of Columbia, Slay Acy and Kyle Smith, all of Brookhaven.
