Funeral services were held Friday, October 3, 2014, at Johnson Funeral Home Chapel for Mr. Oscar Lee Hathorne, age 56, who died September 26, at his residence. Rev. Raymond Geeston officiated with interment following in Griffith Cemetery. Johnson Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Oscar Lee Hathorne was born to the late R.J and Jessie Bell Parkman Hathorne. He served in the United States Army and later retired from the Army Reserves in 1998. He later worked at Georgia Pacific.
Mr. Hathorne was married to the late Doris Hall and to this union, two sons were born.
He was preceded in death by his son Lee Marvin; his brothers, Garfield, R.J. and Robert.
He survived by his son, Sterling O’Jay Hathorne; brother, Jessie James; sister Pearlie Mae Burton (S.B.); aunt and godmother, Irene Blanchard Parkman; aunt, Darlene Parkman (Joe); sisters-in-law, Bobby Hathorne and Evelyn Hathorn (Lee); and a host of nieces and nephews.
