Unofficial totals show Will Russell will be the next Jefferson Davis County Superintendent. With absentee votes counted, the unofficial totals were Russell 1114, Daley 1081.
According to Circuit Clerk Clint Langely, voter turnout was low.
Also on the run-off ballot was the election for Chancery Court Judge District 13, Place 2. Gerald Martin carried that race defeating Mary Burnham 922 votes to 901 (absentee votes not included).
Will Russell will serve a one-year term, finishing the unexpired term left by Ike Haynes.
The regular term election for superintendent will be held next year.
