Funeral services were held Saturday, January 10, 2015, at Springhill MB Church for Mrs. Tabatha L. Smith, 29, who died Saturday, December 20, at Forrest General Hospital, Hattiesburg. Rev. Roy Thompson officated with interment following in the Stonewall-Jackson Cemetery. Johnson Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Tabatha L. Smith was born to Michael Murphy and Francine Polk. She attended House of Refuge at a young age and later became a member of Spring Hill Church but also attended West Point Church in Hattiesburg.

She graduated from Prentiss High School where she was involved in many extra curricular activities.

She was preceded in death by her sister Cherelle and her nephew JaKelan.

She is survived by sons, Brian D. Young, Jr. and Ja’Cory E. Keys; parents, Francine (Micheal) Polk and Micheal (Cassandra) Murphy; sisters, Tontalia Cee, Mary Smith, Eunice Smith, LeCresha Jones, Shroja Jones, Yachikitita Hall, Latressi Gholar and Shamika and Shanika Fortenberry; brothers, Micheal Smith, Timothy Jones, Jr., Alex Smith, Tywon Simmons, Lewis Rogers, Ardell Ross, Christopher Ross and Micheal Murphy, Jr.; maternal grandparents, Thomas Rondle and Crystana Randell; special friend, Deneshia McGowan; many other relatives and friends.
