The public is invited to a reception honoring and celebrating the only girls basketball team to win the State Championship at Bassfield High School. The reception will be Friday, February 13, 2015, at 5:00 p.m. in the high school library. The team is holding a 40-year reunion celebrating their accomplishment and will be honored prior to the home basketball game at 5:45 p.m. Team members, as seen in a 1975 edition of The Prentiss Headlight, are: Front row L to R: Maria Lee, Lana Thompson, Beverly Hathorn, Shirley Myers and Valerie Davis. Second row: Shirley Wilson, Charlotte Daley, Shirley Barnes, Nina Bullock and Patricia Reese.
