Harlon Broome, Sr.

Funeral services were held Saturday, June 6, 2015, at Saulters Moore Chapel in Prentiss, for Harlon Ralph Broome, Sr. who passed away on June 3 at Forrest General Hospital in Hattiesburg. Interment followed at Graves Cemetery in Bassfield. Saulters Moore Funeral Home of Prentiss was in charge of all arrangements.

Rev. Charles Loftin officiated. Pallbearers were Harlon Broome, Jr., Ryan Walker, David Rayborn, Avery Broome, Chance Pickett, Jared Pickett, Ryan Rodgers and Bobby Green.

Harlon was born on August 11, 1938, in Sumrall. He was the son of Arthur Ray Broome and Minnie Graves Broome. He was a road foreman for 24 years for Beat 3. He was a member of Cross Roads Baptist Church.

He is survived by his daughter, Kim Walker of Bassfield; his son, Harlon Broome, Jr. of Bassfield; three grandchildren; one great-grandchild; three sisters, Mary Nell Powell of Hattiesburg, Pearl Lowery of Sumrall, and Sue Lowery of Petal.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, one daughter, one brother and one sister.
