On May 12, Forrest Health launched a new website solution for easier online access to all hospitals, clinics and services under the Forrest Health umbrella. The new responsive design adjusts the content automatically to work on a variety of mobile devices, allowing for easier access and an improved user experience.
“As Forrest Health grew, we knew we needed an online website solution that represented the entire network of facilities and services but was still easy to navigate,” said Millie Swan, chief marketing and medical staff services officer. “Our top priority was, and continues to be, the user experience. Before working on the new design, we spent a great deal of time researching the needs of our communities, making sure we included the information and features that are important to those who visit our website or connect with us through social media.”
The new Forrest Health system website, forresthealth.org, provides quick access to features that visitors find useful, convenient and easy to navigate. A few of the features include:
• being able to access the patient portal from anywhere within the system of sites;
• available social media links that travel with the user throughout the site;
• smart panel content which intuitively helps you find physicians and events of interest, based on your online experience;
• location pages and a provider directory that help visitors quickly and easily find a Forrest Health provider/facility with directions to the location via Google Map technology.
New websites are now available for the following Forrest Health hospitals:
• Jefferson Davis Community Hospital (www.jeffersondavisch.org),
• Walthall General Hospital (www.walthallgeneral.org),
• Marion General Hospital (www.mariongeneral.org); and
• The Orthopedic Institute (www.theorthopedicinstitute.org)
Forrest General Hospital’s website, forrestgeneral.com, has added new features, such as:
• Purchase a gift from the online gift shop and have it delivered to a patient
• Register for classes and events online
• Send a “cheer” card to patients
• Pay a bill
• Social media engagement from anywhere on the system’s
“Our online presence, which includes our social media outlets, is more than just static information posted online. It is one of the best ways we can engage in conversation with our communities to help meet their needs,” said Michelle Leslie, director of marketing and communications. “The foundation we have created will allow us to incorporate future technologies and tools as they are developed. Forrest General has been meeting the health care needs of our communities for decades, and we continue this commitment to those who visit us online.”
