Kenyatta Durr, Student Services Coordinator, at the CTE Center was recently named, “U.S. Senator Thad Cochran Mississippi Finance Teacher of the Year”, for the state of Mississippi.  Previous to this year, Ms. Durr was a teacher and coach at Bassfield High.  She has been working with the Mississippi Council on Economic Education (MCEE) for 5 years.  MCEE provides resources to teachers to help in the areas of finance and economic education.  Under Ms. Durr’s direction for the past three years, BHS 7th graders have placed 1st in the state in the College Knowledge Division and BHS 8th graders have placed 1st in the state in the MCEE division.
