Myrtis White

Funeral services were held Saturday, Nov. 26, 2016, at Saulters Moore Chapel in Prentiss, for  Myrtis Alene White, 77, who passed away Nov. 20, 2016, in Forrest General Hospital in Hattiesburg.  Interment followed in Dublin Cemetery.

Saulters- Moore Funeral Home of Prentiss handled arrangements.

Rev. Robert Sones officiated.  Pallbearers were Dawson McLendon, Timothy McLendon, Bubba James “BJ” McLendon, Christopher McLendon, Michael McLendon, Robert Eugene McLendon, Collin McLendon and Justice Yasko.

Myrtis White was born in Jackson on Sept. 3, 1939, to John E. Summerlin and Frankie Wade Summerlin. She was a nurse’s aide, homemaker, and worked at Edward Hyman for a number of years.

She is survived by her husband, Thomas White of Prentiss, two sons, Robert McLendon and Charles White both of Prentiss; one daughter, Debra Mixon of Gonzales, Louisiana; 11 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild; five brothers, John Summerlin of Twin Falls, Idaho, Tommy Summerlin of Ocean Side, California, Capers Summerlin of Naples, Idaho, Jackie Summerlin of Los Angeles, California and Marvin Summerlin of Baton Rouge, Louisiana.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two sons, one sister, and two brothers.
