You, the people of Prentiss have been gracious in electing me to serve as one of your aldermen the past eight years. It has been an honor to serve the people of the town we all love. I now ask for your vote and support as I seek re-election on Tuesday June 6th.
I have been a part of the business community in Prentiss for 34 years.
My eight years of service as alderman have provided needed experience to continue in a leadership role in Prentiss. The challenges facing small towns in Mississippi are many and sometimes the wheels seem to turn much too slow. Our challenge is to keep pushing forward. That involves continuing the pledge to support our local businesses and look to create more jobs in Prentiss. I thank the business owners who have chosen to operate in Prentiss. I believe Prentiss has brighter days ahead.
We are all proud of Foley Products Company locating in Prentiss and last year the Tiny House operation began production. In time we hope to see more growth along Highway 84. My ongoing commitment is to support our Jefferson Davis County Chamber Partnership. Our Run for the Roses and the Longleaf Trace draw people from all over the state and nation. I am proud to have volunteered each year that the race has run.
I will continue to work with fellow town officials along with our Board of Supervisors as we seek new opportunities for job creation and growth in Prentiss and Jefferson Davis County. We owe a great debt of gratitude to our police, fire and public works departments. We are always looking at ways to enhance these departments in order to provide the safe, secure and clean town that we all want. We have focused on trying to clean up or tear down buildings that are in poor condition and take away from the beauty of Prentiss. We still have work to do and the effort will continue.
If you have a problem or specific suggestions that need the attention of town officials please know that I am available to talk at any time. I thank you for the opportunity you have given me to serve and ask that you re-elect me as Alderman on Tuesday June 6, 2017.
