Funeral services were held Saturday, June 17, 2017, at Prentiss First Missionary Baptist Church for Mr. Billy Ray Jackson, 77, who died Monday, June 12, 2017, at George County Hospital in Lucedale.  Rev. Jessie Holloway officiated with interment following in the church cemetery.  Johnson Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Billy Ray Jackson was born the only child of the late Eloise Jackson in Jefferson Davis County.  He was the grandson of the late R. T. and Getrude Johnson, who raised him.  He completed school in Jefferson Davis County, graduating from J. E. Johnson High School.  He later moved to Newark, New Jersey and started working at Campbell Soup Foundry.

He moved back to Biloxi, and later to Prentiss, and was cared for by his cousin, Kathy Loftin.
