Funeral services were held Saturday, June 17, 2017, at Greater Mt. Olive M. B. Church, Monticello, for Master Eddrick Pierre, 8, who died Thursday, June 8, 2017, in Lawrence County. Interment followed in the St. James M. B. Church cemetery.  Johnson Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Master Pierre was the son of the Sondra and Eddie Johnson. He attended New Creation M. B. Church in Monticello.  He was a third grade student at Monticello Elementary School in Monticello.

He is survived by hismother and father, Sondra and Eddie Johnson of Monticello; brothers, Eddie Pierre, Dewitt Pierre, Tommie Johnson, Spencer Pierre and Jaterrius Johnson all of Monticello; sisters, Elexsis Pierre and Dora Pierre both of Monticello; maternal grandparents Jolanda Pierre and Harold Brooks both of New Orleans, Louisiana; paternal grandparents, Marla Johnson and Eddie Broomfield both of Monticello; maternal great-grandparent, Aline Brooks of New Orleans, Louisiana.
