Eddie Delous Hough

Funeral services were held Thursday, July 27, 2017, at 2 p.m. at the Bassfield High School Gym in Bassfield for Mr. Eddie Delous Hough, 74, of Bassfield who died Sunday, July 23, 2017, at his residence in Bassfield. Burial was in the Bassfield Cemetery. Visitation was Wednesday July 26, 2017 from 5:30 to 9 p.m. at the gym. Saulters Moore Funeral Home of Prentiss was in charge of arrangements.
Rev. Charles Burnham, Rev. Ken Roberts and Randy Gardner officiated. Pallbearers were Paul Jackson, Lance Garner, Sean McRaney, Christopher Mc Raney, Wade Jackson and Cade Jackson.
Coach Hough was born Nov. 28, 1942 in Silverina in Smith County to Benjamin D. Hough and Mary Helen Chandler Hough. After attending University of Southern Mississippi, he played football for Jones County Junior College and basketball for Southeastern Bible College in Laurel. He then went on to be a teacher and coach for Bassfield High School. He was a member of Whitesand Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Jan Hough of Bassfield; two daughters, Michele Jackson (Paul) of Bassfield and Kristie Garner (Lance) of Prentiss; four grandchildren and one great grandchild; five sisters, Liz Borum of Jacksonville, Florida, Sandy McWhinney of Melbourne, Florida, Karen Simmons of Brandon, Kathy Warren of Mt.
