Funeral services for Mr. Hal Smith were held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 3, 2018, at St. Peter’s Catholic Church. Mr. Smith died on Sunday, Dec. 31, 2017, at his residence near Collins. Father Peter Kmiecik officiated and burial was in St. Elizabeth’s Cemetery in Carson. Saulters Moore Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

The pallbearers were Ike Smith, Bill Demers, Roland Harper, Sammy Brown, Sean Burns, and Wesley Daley.

Hal Roger Smith was born July 12, 1949, in Hattiesburg to Leo Smith and Bedie Williamson Smith. He was a carpenter and cattle farmer. Mr. Smith was a veteran of the Mississippi Army National Guard and was a member of St. Peter’s Catholic Church. He was preceded in death by his mother and father.

Mr. Smith is survived by his wife of 48 years, Terri Smith of Collins; two daughters, Lisa McNease (Russell) of Seminary and Tracy Flowers (Cody) of Bassfield; one son, Travis Smith (Heather) of Bassfield; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; one sister, Karen Burns (Kevin) of Bassfield; one brother, Wayne Smith (Katja) of Collins; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
