Funeral services for Mr. Joe Terrell Dyess were held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 30, 2018, at Saulters Funeral Home. Mr. Dyess, 80, passed away Saturday, Jan. 27, 2018, at his residence in Prentiss. Rev. Wiley Graham officiated and interment was in the Greens Creek Cemetery.

Saulters Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Pallbearers were Brandon Dyess, Allen Dyess, Phillip Coats, Chris Robbins, Tyson Carter and Clayton Kitchens.

Joe Terrell Dyess was born March 29, 1937, in Jefferson Davis County to D.A. Dyess and Luena Pierce Dyess. Mr. Dyess was a farmer in the tree industry. He attended Greens Creek Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his mother and father and five brothers: Frank, Sam, George, Hilton and Jerry Dyess.

Mr. Dyess is survived by his wife of 56 years, Grace Dyess; one daughter, Pamela Mann and her husband Robert of Seminary; one son, Joe Randall Dyess and his wife Nancy of Prentiss; five grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; three sisters, Mary Stephens and her husband Lynn of Fleetwood, North Carolina, Faye Speights of Thorn Hill, Tennessee and Mattie Polk and her husband Cecil of Prentiss; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
