Shelby L. Brown Sr.

Funeral services were held Nov. 10, 2018, at St. Mary Church of God in Christ, New Hebron for Min. Shelby Lee Brown Sr., 68, who died Nov. 3, 2018, at Jeff Davis Com- munity Hospital, Prentiss.
Elder Gregory Brown officiated with burial following in Bradley Cemetery, New Hebron. John- son Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Shelby Lee “Larry” Brown was born in Jefferson Davis County to the late George and Ina Bell Brown.
He attended school at Oakland Elementary and J. E. Johnson. He worked with his brothers in the wood business and later at Georgia Pacific and Sanderson Farms. He joined St. Mary Church of God in Christ where he served faithfully under five pastors.
He served as Sunday school teacher, choir member and on the program committee. He accepted his call into ministry under the leadership of Supt. Abraham Jones and was a licensed minister.
Minister Brown was married to Rosie Lee Brown and to this union five children were born.
He is survived by: wife, Rosie Lee Brown of New Hebron; sons, Joe N. (Di- ane) Brown and Jamaine (Tina) Brown both of Prentiss; daughters, Lisa (Gavin) Wells of Hatties- burg and Angela (Tyrone) Brown of New Hebron; nine grandchildren; brothers, Billy Brown, George (Jewel) Brown and Johnnie Mack Brown all of New Hebron; Elder Adell (Freda) Brown and Ro- land (Bobbie) Brown both of Prentiss; Willie (Margie) Brown of Oakvale; stepmother, Idella Brown of Hattiesburg; mother-in-law, Bertha Drummond of Pinola; four sisters-in-law; three brothers-in-law; and many other relatives and friends.
