Funeral services were held July 27, 2019, at Mt. Zion M. B. Church for Mr. Jewel Lee White Sr., 81, who died July 23, 2019, at Forrest General Hospital in Hattiesburg.

Rev. Ozell White, pastor, officiated with burial following in the White Cemetery. Johnson Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Jewel Lee White was born to the late Y. C. and Marie Gray White. He was a member of Mt. Zion M. B. Church.

He was preceded in death by three sisters, Frances White, Earvene Sumrall and Patsy Jean White; and one grandchild, Asia Barber.

He is survived by: his wife of 49 years, Wynella White; three children: Jewel (Shequita) White Jr., Frances White and Detric (Edward) White; two brother, Y. C. (Barbara) White and Glen (Queene) White; seven grandchildren: Demario (Schemeaka) Nixon, Jewenca (Cedric) Anders, Tykia Barber, Tamia Barber, Jaleah Pollard and Jamion Pollard; one great-grandchild, John Craft; and many other relatives and friends.
