Funeral services were held Aug. 3, 2019 at Pleasant Grove M. B. Church, Silver Creek,   for Mr. Henry Calvin Mackey, 71, who died  , July 31, 2019 at Asbury Hospice House, Hattiesburg, MS.  Rev. Eskira Rhodes officiated with interment following in the church cemetery.  Johnson Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Henry C. Mackey was born to the late Ambus and Eula Mae Copeland Mackey. He graduated from McCollough High School and enlisted into the United States Army. He received three Purple Hearts and many other medals while serving his country.  He was a lifelong member of Pleasant Grove M. B. Church where he served as Superintendent,   School teacher and trustee.

Mr. Mackey retired from Georgia Pacific in 2006 after serving in several positions, including Fire and Safety Technician.  He was married to Patricia Ann Expose, three children were added to this union and a niece.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Tasha N. Mackey; siblings, Burnell Mackey, Mae Bennett and Rose Mackey Thompson.

He is survived by his wife, Patricia Mackey; children, Damon Mackey, Brandi N. Mackey and niece, Kimberly J. Martin; three grandchildren; one great-grandchild; sisters, Bernice Bournes, Lorese Polk and Erma Benjamin; many other relatives and friends.
