Funeral services were held Saturday, Feb. 8, 2020, at Prentiss First Missionary Baptist Church for Mr. Onette Hunter Scott Sr., 81, who died Friday, Jan. 31, 2020, at Jefferson Davis Community Extended Care Facility. Rev. Ronnie Barnes officiated with interment following in the church cemetery. Johnson Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Onette Scott Sr. was born to the late Clifton and Melvina Scott. He attended school in Sumrall and Prentiss. He was a member of Prentiss First Baptist Church and pulpwood logger. Mr. Scott was formerly married to the late Mrs. Nora Jackson.

He was preceded in death by brother, Harold Scott; sisters, Margaret Watts and Geanie M. Colter.

He is survived by one son, Onette Scott Jr; sisters, Leona Rawls of Sumrall and Tertha White of Prentiss; two brothers, James Scott of Chicago, Illinois and Herbert (Doris) Scott of Prentiss and many other relatives and friends.
