Nollie Butler

Graveside services for Mrs. Nollie Butler were held at 3 p.m. on Friday, May 1, 2020, at Phalti Cemetery.
Mrs. Butler, age 90, passed away from this life on Tuesday, April 28, 2020 at her residence in Clem. Rev. Wade Mathis and Rev. Billy Bridges officiated and Erin Sanders gave a musical tribute.
Saulters Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Nollie Catherine Aultman Butler was born on Aug. 4, 1929, in Covington County to Winnie Aultman and Eva McRaney Aultman.
Mrs. Butler worked for the Jefferson Davis County Extension Office before retiring. She had formerly worked in garment manufacturing, at KLH Industries, and the Boswell Center.
Mrs. Butler loved both vegetable and flower gardening. She was an active member of Phalti Baptist Church, where she served on various committees.
She was preceded in death by her mother and father; two sons, Jimmy Wayne Mathis and Alton Ray Mathis; one grandson, Reggie Butler; and three brothers, Edward Aultman, Lawrence Aultman, and Boyd Aultman.
Mrs. Butler is survived by her husband of 54 years, Vernon Butler of Clem; four daughters, Kathy Lytle (Dennis) of Lone Star, Doris Temple (Billy) of Columbia, Theresa Halbert (Charles) of Clem, and Nollie “Tera” Butler of Clem; one son, Terry Mathis (Sherry) of Clem; 14 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; a host of great-great-grandchildren; two brothers, David Aultman (Liz) of Sumrall and Dennis Aultman (Arlene) of Oloh; one sister, Bobbie Strohaker (Larry) of Rockford, Illinois; as well as a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
