Ned Langston Tyrone went to be with his savior Jesus Christ on July 24, 2020 after a brief battle with lung cancer. His friends and family knew him better as “Goose”.
Goose was born in Prentiss, on April 18, 1947 to Mildred Langston Tyrone and Edward Farrar Tyrone Sr.
Goose served in the United States Air Force from 1966 to 1970 and retired with the rank of Sergeant. Goose later worked in offshore drilling for 35 years and retired from Ensco in 2008 as a barge engineer.
His career led him to Brazil, Holland and the Gulf of Mexico.
Goose never met a stranger and was glad to talk with anyone, anytime. He enjoyed hunting, and especially fishing. Goose loved collecting and researching old and antique fishing baits, rods, reels and fishing memorabilia.
Goose was predeceased by his parents, Mildred and Edward, and his brother, Edward Tyrone Jr.
He is survived by his wife Deborah (Davis) Tyrone and sons Josh (wife Christina and sons Davis and Langston), and Brian (wife Rosalind and daughters Emma and Ellis). Ned is also survived by his brother Glenn Tyrone (wife Debbie) and a number of nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held at Antioch Baptist Church in Prentiss on July 26 at 4 p.m. Graveside service followed in the church cemetery at 5 p.m.
