Beulah Armstrong

Graveside services were held Saturday, Sept. 5, 2020, at Armstrong Family Cemetery for Mrs. Beulah Armstrong, 91, who died Tuesday, Aug. 31, 2020, in Dallas, Texas. Rev. Robert Collins officiated with Johnson Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Beulah Armstrong was born to the late Matthew and Ella Collins Herron. She joined South Pleasant Hill Church at a young age and was active in BTU, Sunday School and youth mission. She was a graduate of Prentiss Institute and later attended nursing school in Jackson. She was married to the late Daniel Webster Armstrong and to this union, three children were born, Louis Armstrong, Linda Armstrong O’Neal and Davis Armstrong.
Mrs. Armstrong later joined First Missionary Baptist Church in Biloxi, Mississippi where she served on the Senior Mission Outreach ministry, Women Home Mission, local PTA and NAACP.
She was preceded in death by her son, Louis Armstrong; brother, Luther Herron and sister, Katie Atlas.
She is survived by two children, Linda O’Neal and Davis (Lawanda) Armstrong; two grandchildren, Kimberly Como and Jeremy (Heather) Armstrong; four great-grandchildren; siblings, Buford Herron of Gardenia, California, Lela Barnes, H. C. (Barbara) Herron both of Prentiss; Alfred (Lela) Herron of Dallas, Texas and Nora (Odell) Lee of Nipomo, California and many other relatives and friends.
