Graveside services were held Monday, Dec. 28, 2020, at Griffith Cemetery for Mr. Willie Ray Knight, 67, who died Sunday, Dec. 20, 2020, at Anderson Medical Center in Meridian.  Pastor James Dampier officiated with Johnson Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Willie Knight (Preacher) was born to the late George and Mollie V. Knight in Covington County.  He accepted Christ at an early age.  He graduated from Prentiss High School in 1972, then joined the Mississippi National Guard as a combat engineer.  He served in served for nine years and received an honorable discharge.  He worked at Georgia Pacific in Taylorsville.

He was preceded in death by sisters, Armelia Tardy, Ardella Sutton, and brother, George KnightJr.

He is survived by two children, Nolan (Rebekah) Pounds and Wilma Cooper Martin; four grandchildren; three brothers, Robert (Fannie) Knight, Charles (Anna) Knight, Bobby Knight; three sisters, Rosetta (Lavel) Williams, Jessie (Alfred) Brinkley, and Mary Knight.
