Graveside services were held Friday, Jan. 29, 2021, at Shady Grove Baptist Church in Silver Creek, for Mrs. Maxine Price Norwood, 66, who died Friday, Jan. 22, 2021, at Bedford Care Nursing Facility in Hattiesburg.

Rev. Roy Thompson officiated with Johnson Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Maxine Price Norwood was born to the late Peter and Elnora Expose Price in Prentiss.  She joined Jordan Hill Baptist Church at an early age and remained an active member until her health failed.  She served on the usher ministry, recording/reporting secretary, dining committee, finance committee, Vacation Bible School Assistant and program committee.

She graduated from Prentiss High School in the Class of 1972.  After graduation, she began working at Magnetek Manufacturing, Mendenall.  She later became a Certified Nurse Assistant at Jefferson Davis Extended Care Facility where she retired in 2012.

She was preceded in death by two sisters, Doris Nell Price, Charlene Moore and one brother, Darnell Price.

She is survived by son, Credity Thompson of Hattiesburg; daughter, Latoria Thompson of Hattiesburg; two grandchildren, Kelis Young and Kelson Young both of Hattiesburg; four brothers, James (Mildred) Price of Bassfield; Percy Price of San Antonio, Texas; Jerry (Betty) Price of Byram; Dennis Price of Prentiss; two sisters, Juanita Jackson of Prentiss; and Francine Price of Virginia Beach, Virginia and many other relatives and friends.
