Graveside services were held Sunday, Feb. 14, 2021, at Wheeler Cemetery in Bassfield for Mr. Mack Charles Harper, 56, who died Tuesday, Feb. 2, 2021, in New Iberia, Louisiana.  Rev. Henry Kelly officiated with Johnson Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Mack Charles Harper was born to the late Evan Harper and Mrs. Joyce Harper.  He was a member of St. Paul Baptist Church in Bassfield.  He was married to Patsy Harper of New Iberia, Louisiana where he lived until his demise.

He was preceded in death by son, Antoine Jefferson; brother, Derwin Harper; paternal grandparents, Johnnie and Martha Harper; maternal grandparents, Jim and Jessie Lou Keys.

He is survived by his wife, Patsy Harper of New Iberia, Louisiana; son, Marcus (Deanna) Harper of Stillwell, OK; grandson, Derall; mother, Joyce Harper Nelson; four brothers, Ricky (Tina) Harper, Roland (Annette) Harper of Bassfield; William (Lorna) Harper of Spencer, Oklahoma and Ernest (Kelly) Harper of Raleigh, North Carolina; three sisters, Gayle (Kenneth) Nelson of Jackson; Ivory Dean Payton and LaRonda Harper of Bassfield and many other relatives and friends.
