Graveside services were held Friday, Feb. 26, 2021, at Mt. Zion Baptist Church for Mr. Anthony James “Big H” Hartzog, 54, who died Thursday, Feb. 18, 2021, at his residence.  Rev. Johnny Donaldson officiated with Johnson Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Anthony Hartzog was born to the late Ellis Jewel and Nancy Merle Hartzog in Prentiss.  He attended and graduated from Prentiss High School in the Class of 1984.  He received his Associate Degree in Business Administration from Colorad Technicl University.

Mr. Hartzog was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church and was a member of the Masonic Brotherhood. He was employed at Jefferson Davis County Sheriff’s Department until his health failed.

He is survived by his sister, Alisa Hartzog Lampton of Prentiss; Johnny (Stacey) Donaldson of Clinton; Bonita (Lester) Walker of Prentiss; nieces, Sheekela White of Laurel; Christel (Ronald) Tate of Clinton; Camaryn and Caitlyn Donaldson both of Clinton; great nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.
