Funeral services for Mr. Roger “Rod” Saulters were held at 11 a.m. on Friday, April 2, 2021, at Saulters Moore Funeral Home Chapel. Mr. Saulters, age 67, passed away from this life on Sunday, March 28, 2021, at his residence in Sumrall.  Rev. Brad Roberts officiated. Interment followed in Mack Cemetery.

Saulters-Moore Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Pallbearers were Scott Gilmore, Grey McRaney, Toby Warren, Kipley White, Jason McRay and Mark Igleharte.

Roger Dale Saulters was born on Nov. 19, 1953, in Prentiss to Carlos “Bud” Saulters and Lonnie Graves Saulters. Mr. Saulters was a logger for many years with Stuart Brothers and he also had a lawn care business. “Rod” loved hunting and fishing. He was a member of the Santee Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents; an infant son, Allen Dale Saulters; two brothers and one sister.

Mr. Saulters is survived by his wife, Cherry Saulters of Columbia; one daughter, CJ Higginbotham (Neil) of Sumrall; three step-daughters, Carol Bagby of Columbia, Jennifer Bagby of Columbia and Jessica Lott (Aaron) of Runnelstown; three grandchildren and eight step-grandchildren.

Visitation was Thursday, April 1, 2021, from 5:30 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Saulters Moore Funeral Home.
