Graveside services were held Saturday, May 1, 2021 at Progress Baptist Church, Bassfield, Mississippi for Mr. Tony Demetric Oatis Jr., 24, who died Sunday, April 25, 2021 in Forrest County.

Rev. Roy Thompson officiated with Johnson Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Tony Oatis was born in Collins to Mrs. Jennifer Brown and Mr. Tony D. Oatis.

He was raised by his stepfather, Mr. Ricky Brown of Picayune.

He graduated in 2017 from North Charter School in Bogalusa, Louisiana.

He worked at Mar-Jac Poultry in Hattiesburg.

He was preceded in death by grandfathers, James Bodgett and Robert Oatis; aunts, Charia Oatis and Shantia Oatis and great-grandparents, M. L. Keys.

He is survived by five siblings; Tomarrion Adams and Tamyra Adams both of Bogalusa, Louisiana; Tamauz Oatis, Jarrett Brown and Jeanlynn Thornton all of Picayune; two grandmothers, Mrs. Illean Ross of Bogalusa, Louisiana and Mrs. Jessie Mae Williams of Prentiss; one grandfather, Glen Adams of Bassfield; step-grandparents, Harold and Barbara Brown of Poplarville and many other relatives and friends.
