A Memorial Day service will be held May 31 at the Jefferson Davis County Courthouse in Prentiss. The service will start at 9:30 a.m. and is coordinated by the Jefferson Davis County Veterans Affairs office. Guest speaker will be Harry Carter of Whitesand. A flag will be placed in front of the monument for each Jefferson Davis County soldier killed in action as their name is read, followed by the placing of the wreath and playing of Taps.
