Graveside services for Mr. Robert “Joe” Barrett were held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, May 19, 2021 at Greens Creek Cemetery in Carson with the Rev. Eddie Hartfield officiating.

Saulters-Moore Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Joe was born on Sept. 30, 1962, in Marion County, to Louis and Hazel Dyess Barrett. He passed away Monday, May 17, 2021, at the Marion General Hospital in Columbia.

Joe was a member of the Jackson Police Department for over 20 years. In addition, he held a passion for the outdoors, hunting and fishing.  He was a Baptist.

He leaves to cherish his memory two sons Clint Barrett and Chase Barrett, both of the home.  He is also survived by the mother of his children Janice Barrett of Byram.

He was preceded in death by his parents Louis Lane and Hazel Christine Barrett.

There will be no prior visitation. The graveside service will begin promptly at 11 a.m.
