Funeral services for Mrs. Alberta B. Dyess were held at 2 p.m. on Friday, May 21, 2021, at Saulters Moore Funeral Home Chapel. Mrs. Dyess, age 87, passed away from this life on Tuesday, May 11, 2021, at her residence in Slidell, Louisiana. Rev. Jim Roberson officiated. Interment followed in Victory Cemetery.
Saulters-Moore Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Alberta B. Dyess was born on Sept. 2, 1933, in Prentiss to Luther Bullock and Maxie Hathorn Bullock. Mrs. Dyess enjoyed working in her flower garden and watching her hummingbirds buzz around the feeders. Known as an excellent cook, she will be remembered for her fried pies, peach cobbler and Blueberry Delight. In addition, she enjoyed crocheting and took great joy in her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Mrs. Dyess was a member of Victory Baptist Church in Bassfield.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, R. J. Dyess.
Mrs. Dyess is survived by two daughters, Dianne Crumby (Dwain) of Slidell, Louisiana and Jan Hatton (Tommy) of Carson; four grandchildren, Kim Abney, Tina St. Clair, Kristi Moody and Brandi Jackson and four great-grandchildren, Jonathon McCloud, Morgan Abney, Kennedy McCloud and Bailey Abney.
Visitation was Friday, May 21, 2021, from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. at Saulters Moore Funeral Home.
