Funeral services were held Saturday, July 24, 2021, at Harmony Baptist Church in Mt. Olive, for Sir William James Phillips, 12, who died Tuesday, July 13, 2021, at his residence. Rev. Demetrius Pittman officiated with interment following in the church cemetery. Johnson Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Phillips was born to Hollie Bennett and Christenia Phillips. He was a student at Purvis Upper Elementary School where he was loved by all his teachers and friends. He loved cars, buses, watching Bernie Mac and playing Pac-Man. His bubbly personality, infectious smile and positive attitude had a profound impact on everyone he met. He had a warm, welcoming spirit that touched so many lives. When he walked in a room his presence was felt by all.

He is survived by his parents, Christenia Phillips of Purvis and Hollie Bennett of Prentiss; maternal grandmother, Janny Phillips of Purvis and many other relatives and friends.
