To ensure safety from any downed trees and power lines due to Hurricane Ida, the Town of Bassfield is issuing a city-wide curfew from 8 p.m. tonight until 8 a.m. tomorrow.

This curfew will be assessed on a daily basis and extended if needed. “Please understand that the weather conditions may last longer than the curfew'” said Bassfield Mayor Angie Ladner. “if weather is still impending and you decide to travel during these times and find yourself in a bind, emergency personnel may not be able to get to you. Please stay indoors and off the roads at all cost.”
