Funeral services were held Saturday, Aug. 28, 2021, at Ruby K. Johnson Chapel for Mr. Marlon Lamar “Marlow” Hartzog, 42, who died Thursday, Aug. 19, 2021, at Forrest General Hospital in Hattiesburg. Rev. Michael O. Evans officiated with interment following in Green Grove Baptist Church cemetery.  Johnson Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. 

Mr. Marlon Hartzog was born to the late Lawrence and Mrs. Joyce Hartzog. He attended Prentiss High School.  Marlow, as he was known, was a member of Green Grove Baptist Church and was employed by Country Fisherman for eight years. He continued his employability skills through the Pine Belt Center. 

He is survived by his mother, Joyce Hartzog; sister, Lisa Black of Prentiss; brothers, Mark (Brenda) Hartzog and Malcolm Hartzog both of Prentiss; Marty (Teka) Hartzog of Acworth, Georgia; aunts, Mary Williams, Ruby Bullock, Ora Keys, Doris McEwen, Celia Johnson, Betty (Rosco) Price, Mary (Elijah Jr.) Barnes and Ruthie Fairley; special cousin, who he called aunt, Marsha Johnson; uncles, Charlie C. Fairley and John Fairley; special friends, Johnny, Michael, Teddy and Chester and many other relatives and friends.
