The Jefferson Davis County Jaguars are the 8 3-A district champions after defeating the St. Stanislaus Rock-A-Chaws 54-20 Oct. 29. After a 0-4 start of the season, the Jags swept the district defeating Perry Central, Seminary, St. Patrick, West Marion and St. Stanislaus.
“I am extremely proud of the young men after battling through a tough non-district schedule,” said Jefferson Davis County High School Head Coach Lance Mancuso. “They improved each week and hopefully this will provide the momentum we need to make a run in the state playoffs.”
The Jaguars will play Clarksdale in Prentiss in the first round of the playoffs tonight at 7 p.m.
