Chaniquel Hathorn

Funeral services were held Saturday, Jan. 29, 2022, at J. E. Johnson Elementary School Gymnasium for Miss Chaniquel Chantel Hathorn, 28, who died Thursday, Jan. 20, 2022, in Covington County. Rev. Michael Evans officiated with Griffith Cemetery in Prentiss. Johnson Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Miss Chaniquel Hathorn was born to Alice Hathorn (Stephen) Abram and Kent (Desi) Williams. She was the second child of four children. She graduated from Prentiss High School. She was the mother of two little girls; while raising her family, she was employed at Sanderson Farms in Collins. Miss Hathorn was a devoted member of Mt. Carmel Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by grandfathers, Toxie Hathorn, M. L. Williams, Steven Abram and great-grandparents, Adam Blanchard, L. T. Hubbard, Zola Kelly and Dillie Hubbard.
She is survived by her parents, Alice (Stephen) Abram and Kent (Desi) Williams; two daughters, Harleigh Brown and Jaycee Powell both of Prentiss; three sisters, LaChristie Hathorn, Tanisha Abram and Antoinette Williams all of Prentiss; grandparents, Gracie Nell Hathorn and Annie Williams both of Prentiss; Clifton of Columbia; one great-grandmother, Mary Blanchard of Prentiss; many other relatives and friends.
