Graveside services were held Saturday, March 19, 2022, at South Pleasant Hill Baptist Church for Mr. Douglas Chauncey Williams, 47, who died Wednesday, March 9, 2022, at his residence. Rev. Robert Collins, pastor, officiated with Johnson Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Douglas (Big Doug) Williams was born t the late Pearlina Williams and Willie James Robinson. He was a 1993 graduate of Prentiss High School. He joined South Pleasant Hill Baptist Church at an early age. He loved traveling while driving his 18-wheeler across the country. He was an avid fan of San Francisco 49ers.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Jeffery Baker and great-niece, Ah’Laysia Williams.
He is survived by two sisters, Lou Ann (Milton) Williams and JoAnn Williams both of Prentiss; five brothers, Ezell (Yolanda) cobb and Jessie (Jacqueline) Williams both of Oklahoma; Herman Cobb of Prentiss, Willie Earl (Arlene) Williams of Hattiesburg and Willie James Robinson of Los Angeles, California; aunt, Sarah Nell McGowan of Prentiss; great-aunt, Easter McCullum of Prentiss; great-uncle, R. C. Robinson of Texarkana, Arkansas; best friend, Jonas McDuffey of New Hebron; special friend, Latonia Smith of Jackson; special friend, Coach Alvin Gray and many other relatives and friends.
