Graveside services for Mrs. Joyce Parker were conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 29, 2022, at the Brady Cemetery in Prentiss. Rev. Rob Webb officiated.  Mrs. Parker, age 75, passed away Friday, March 25, 2022, at the Jefferson Davis Community Hospital in Prentiss.

Joyce Parker was born on July 3, 1946, in Jasper County, to George and Ruby Edwards Parker.  Joyce had a passion for gardening and working in her flowers.  Anticipating winter’s end and the arrival of spring, she had already bought plants for her garden.  She is now enjoying eternal springtime in heaven.  Joyce was a member of Prentiss Methodist Church.

Joyce was preceded in death by her parents, George and Ruby Walters and her husband, David “Crisco” Parker in 2019.

Her memory will forever be cherished by her daughter, Sonya McRaney (Richard) and her son, David Parker Jr., both of Prentiss.  She also leaves behind three sisters, Juanita Sumrall, Ruth Bustin, Rebecca Cook and one brother, Edward Walters, all of Laurel.  The legacy of their MeMe will live on through her grandchildren, Connor McRaney, Will Parker and Seth Parker.

The family received friends Monday evening, March 28, 2022, from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Saulters Moore Funeral Home.
