Funeral services were held Sunday, April 24, 2022, at Ruby K. Johnson Chapel for Mr. Aurther Ray Mickell, 75, who passed away on Tuesday, April 19, 2022, at Jefferson Davis Extended Care Facility. Rev. Eddie Dixon officiated with interment following in Reese Cemetery in Bassfield.

Mr. Aurther Mickell was born to the late Hosey and Elnora Mickell.  He joined Holly Springs C. M. E. Church where he served as a Steward. He was married to Annie Pearl Burton and to this union, four children were born.

Mr. Mikell worked at SuperValue Store, Jefferson Davis Co-Op and the poultry farm until his health failed.

He was preceded in death by two sons, Roy Ray Mickell and Nealis d. Mickell, seven brothers and one sister.

He is survived by: son, Ray Dale (Veronica) Mickell of Groundrock, Texas; one daughter, Melissa Graves of Raleigh, North Carolina; two sisters, Rutha Mickell Graves and Lauretta (Edward) Rogers; two sisters-in-law, 14 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren and many other relatives and friends.
