JDCSD summer activities announced

Summer enrichment and credit recovery is now being offered in the Jefferson Davis County School District. KinderBoost is available for all incoming preK students that are registered with the JDCSH. Third grade reading gate remediation is being offered for students who didn’t pass the initial test. Credit recovery available for freshmen and sophomores for any failures of a credit bearing course. All other grade levels are welcomed for remediation and/or enrichment support. Free food and transportation are also available.
Required school registration is ongoing through June 30 for the JDCSD for all students grades K-12. Register at your child’s campus from 9 a.m until 11 a.m. or from 2 p.m. until 5 p.m. Campuses are closed on Friday. All electronics must be returned to your child’s campus to avoid paying a replacement fee.
Also happening this summer in the JDCSD is the free summer feeding program for kids and teens 18 and under. All meals must be eaten in the cafeteria. There are no grab-and-go meals. At J. E. Johnson Elementary for K-5, meals will be available through July 14 Monday through Thursday. Breakfast is served from 7:30-8:30 a.m. and lunch is served from 11 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. Meals will be served at Carver Elementary School Monday through Thursday until July 28. The first breakfast is available from 6:40 a.m.-7:05 a.m. The second breakfast is from 7:30a.m.-8:30 a.m. Lunch is served at Carver from 10:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m.
Adult meal prices are $2.75 for breakfast and $3.50 for lunch.
