Camellar Rhodes

Funeral services were held Sunday, Dec. 11, 2022, at Ruby K. Johnson Chapel for Mrs. Camellar Rhodes, 86, who died Sunday, Dec. 4, 2022, at her residence. Elder Hosea Brown officiated with interment following in Walter Springs Cemetery, Prentiss, Mississippi. Johnson Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Camellar Rhodes was born to the late Willie and Madie Adams. She attended White Sand School. She joined South Pleasant Hill Baptist Church and later became a member of Springhill and later Galilee Baptist Church. She was married to the late Albert Smith and to this union five children were born; she later married to the late Emmanuel Rhodes and to this union, four children were born. She was a retired school janitor who loved gardening, flowers and spending time with family and friends.
Mrs. Rhodes was preceded in death by her brothers, Willie Adams, Lavester and Savester Adams; sisters, Madie Adams, Lois Bracey, Lonnie Mae Courley and Betty Joyce Adams; daughter, Joanne Burton; sons, Frederick Rhodes and Albert Smith, Jr.; granddaughters, Amanda Brown and Shivasha Rhodes; grand-son, Jimarcus Burton.
She is survived by: children, Bonnie Smith, Carila Brown, Willie Smith, Frank (Evonne) Rhodes, Elvadus (Sylvia) Rhodes, James Rhodes all of Prentiss; special granddaughters, Betty Burton of Hattiesburg and April Smith; 24 grandchildren, 40 great-grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren and many other relatives and friends.
