The family received friends Wednesday evening, April 5, from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Saulters Moore Funeral Home.

Mrs. Myers was carried to her final resting place by her grandsons: Blake, Blaine, Cameron, Brody, Dallas, Will, Matthew and Kristian.

Angie Lee Myers was born on July 5, 1941, in Pearl River, Louisiana, to Louis Edward and Ella Parker Galloway.  After graduating high school, Mrs. Myers embarked on a career in nursing, enrolling in Nurses Aide Training; however, those plans would change after she met her beloved Tom while working as a waitress in a restaurant.  She and Tom married in February of 1961 and would go on to raise a family, complete with three children, to which in-laws and a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren would be added.

Having made their home in Louisiana for many years, Tom, Angie and their youngest daughter moved to Prentiss in 1983 and it was during this time that Angie began her career in elementary education as a Teacher’s Assistant.  For many years, she helped to educate and shape the futures of her young students; beginning first at Columbia Primary School and then at Prentiss Elementary, where she retired in 2002.  A member of Prentiss Baptist Church for 40 years, she was active in the senior adult ministry, a Sunday School teacher and also enjoyed teaching in Vacation Bible School.  Mrs. Myers was loved by all who knew her and will be dearly missed.

In addition to her parents, Louis and Ella Galloway, Mrs. Myers was preceded in death by her husband to 48 years, Tom H. Myers; her sisters, Alyse Kitts and Adrienne Blanchard and her brother Abner Galloway.

Her memory will forever be cherished by her son, Louis Myers of Prentiss; daughters, Teresa Smith (Gary) of Laurel, Lynn Hill (Tony) of Pelahatchie; sisters, Audrey Todd, Mease Rushing and her brother, Albert Galloway, all of Louisiana.  The legacy of their Nana will also live on through her 12 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren, whom she dearly loved.  In addition, Mrs. Myers leaves behind a host of nieces and nephews.
