J. E. Johnson Elementary receiving upgrades

- The Prentiss Headlight—Preparations are being made for a new parking lot to be paved at J. E. Johnson Elementary in Prentiss, along with many other updates.
Renovations are underway at the J.E. Johnson Elementary School campus in Prentiss.
Renovations will include a new paved parking lot, interior painting, new floors, air conditioner units, ceilings, new cameras, fencing, and a new security system.
This is the last and final campus to be updated and renovated in the JDC School District.
The project manager said major components of the project will be completed by the first day of school for students, which is July 24.
J.E. Johnson Elementary has been temporarily relocated to the middle school campus.
JDCSD Summer School sessions began on June 5, and will be held from 8 a.m. until noon each day at two locations: JDCMS for JDC Middle School students and J. E. Johnson Students, and G. W. Carver for Carver Students and JDC High School students.
Buses begin picking students up at 7 a.m. Breakfast and lunch will be provided for students daily.

JDCSD summer office hours are Monday through Thursday from 7 a.m. until 5:30 p.m.
The office is closed on Friday.
